This time last year we were all making plans for a wonderful 2020. Vacations we wanted to take. New things we wanted to try. Goals we wanted to hit. Then, well, 2020. Need I say more?
2020 has been a difficult year on most of us. When I let myself dwell on all of the hardships this year has seen, both in the world and in my own personal life, it becomes overwhelming. I get anxious, depressed even.
While this year has been hard and we have all seen struggles, it is important to keep our focus on God.
The Lord is good to everyone;
His compassion rests on all He has made.
Psalm 145:9
Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good;
His faithful love endures forever.
1 Chronicles 16:34
Through all of the riots, a pandemic, lockdowns, elections, chaos, loss, and heartache, God is still good. His compassion rests on us and His faithful love endures forever and ever.
Today I want to challenge you to look back at 2020. But instead of thinking of the pandemic or hardships, find blessings. Find something you can praise God about from this year. Remember, every day may not be good, but there is good in every day.

Participating Bloggers
It's time for Share A Link Wednesday! Each Wednesday we invite you to leave a link to your latest blog post in the comments. We still desire to connect women of God with one another and encourage each other in Christ. So grab a cup of coffee or glass of sweet tea, sit back and visit a few blogs. Be encouraged and share your own stories.
A good reminder. We tend to focus on what's wrong instead of seeing God's hand at work.
ReplyDeleteWhat a generous giveaway!
I wrote this week about getting out of or avoiding a Bible reading rut: https://barbaraleeharper.com/2020/12/06/how-to-get-out-of-a-bible-reading-rut/.
I am grateful to God for His graciousness and mercies every day. Yes, He is good, in control, and able.
ReplyDeleteAnd thank you all for making such a gift possible for one reader.

This year, we have been extremely blessed! My husband has been out of work for extended times, for various reasons, for the past 5 years. But this year the hospital shut down the day before a scheduled non-critical operation. We had to wait for everything to open back up. He was at home for 7 months with the pre-operation treatments, the delay and recovery. But his company found a way to keep him working from home. That's saying a lot since he's a shop foreman/diesel mechanic.
