The election in the United States is just days away. Some have even participated in early voting. This year our presidential election is a big one. It's very important. But the truth is, they all are.
Here are a few things to consider leading up to the election.
Pray. And pray some more. Ask for God's guidance as you make your way to the polls. Ask for God to guide our current leaders and so to be leaders. Ask for God's hand on our country. Ask for God to lead us to repentance. Pray. Pray. Pray.
Do your research. The media, social media, family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, and even complete strangers will tell you how to vote. Do your own research. Study both candidates. Know they policies. Know the plans. Don't vote on one candidate simply because you have a strong dislike for the other. Don't vote on one candidate because someone told you do. Research for yourself.
Go to the Bible. Once you've researched the candidates, go to the Bible and see what It says about each item and policy.
Go to the polls. Vote. It matters. It makes a difference. Vote!
Vote policies. It can be easy to vote on who you like or vote on someone because you dislike someone else. Instead vote for the policies. Vote for the Bible.
Be kind. I've seen people on both sides that are downright rude to anyone who doesn't vote as they do. Don't be like this. Show kindness. Show love.
Trust God. All throughout the Bible we see good leaders and we see bad leaders. Through it all, God was always in control. He still holds that control now. No matter who our next president is, God holds ultimate control. Trust Him.
Discussion:
1. Have you prayed for the election?
2. Have you experienced hatred because of the candidate you support?
