You have encircled me;
You have placed Your hand on me.
Psalm 139:5 CSB
Have you ever been driving and suddenly you feel as though you should take a different route? Have you ever been standing in the hot sun and suddenly you feel a beautiful breeze but no trees are blowing? Or maybe you were fearful for something and suddenly felt at peace? Perhaps you are walking along and have the urge to look down only to notice you were about to trip over something? Did you feel alone and need a friend and out of the blue the phone rings and a good friend is on the other end?
When things like this happen, do you think it is coincidence? Just something that happened, no big deal. Well friend, let me tell you, it is a big deal! God just put His thumbprint in your life!
Each and every day God reveals Himself to us. Sometimes when God reveals Himself to us, it is in big ways that we can not possibly deny it is God. But sometimes it is little things. God whispers to us in small ways all the time and sometimes we pass it off as nothing or as a coincidence. We miss His print in our day. We need to have our eyes, ears, and hearts open and looking for God.
Today I want to challenge you to pray this simple yet powerful prayer, "God, please reveal Yourself to me in some way today. Help me to open my eyes to You." Now friend, don't just stop there! Don't just pray this short prayer and walk away. You have to look for God today. Look for His thumbprint. Allow Him to open your eyes and see Him in some small way. And then, when God puts His thumbprint in your day, thank Him! Let's not confine God to Sunday morning or even to our quiet time each day. Let's ask Him to be a part of our entire day. I don't know about you, but I want God's thumbprint all over my day!
Discussion:
1. How have you seen God's thumbprint in your life in the past?
2. Have you seen His thumbprint recently? If not, how can you open your eyes and heart to see Him today?
