But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness,
and all these things will be provided for you.
Matthew 6:33 CSB
My main focus in my life right now is trying to find time to do everything. I feel like I never have enough time to do what needs to be done. This is something that I've realize every single person feels as well. In our world today we are always on the go, trying to do everything, never wanting to sit down and relax. Because of this, I've heard a lot of people use the excuse, "I just don't have time" in order to try and explain why they missed church on Sunday, why they don't read their Bible, why they stopped working in ministry.
This excuse is so easy to use that I find myself using it as well. I don't have time to read my Bible in the morning because I have to go to work, despite laying in bed watching TikToks for the last 30 minutes. I don't have time to help out an event at church because I have to run errands, even though I have multiple days available to do that.
encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day approaching.
The Bible even acknowledges that we are in the habit of neglecting church. We value our free time over our relationship with God. What's worse is that sometimes we are valuing our errands over our relationship with God.
We are supposed to be seeking Him. When we seek Him we don't just grow closer to Him but we also change everything in our lives, we gain peace, strength, love for others, etc. All He is asking of us in exchange is our time.
We are given such an incredible opportunity to have a relationship with our Creator. Are we taking advantage of this opportunity? Are we spending our time working towards growing closer to Him or are we more focused on our to do list? I completely understand that life can be hectic, but finding that time to spend with Him can change that stressful day to one of joy and happiness.
I challenge you this week to set aside a time for God every day. Maybe it's in the morning before you get ready for the day, maybe it's before bed, or while the kids are napping. Whatever time it is, just find those few minutes to spend with Him. Trust me, the change it will make to your day will shock you.
Discussion Question: Do you find it hard to make time for God?
Grace, I think time is a problem for everyone, no matter where we find ourselves in life. We need to make spending time with God a priority, intentionally setting the time. And you are so right, when we do, it makes all the difference in our days.
