You Are More Than You've Been Told

By: Jenifer Metzger

Have you ever felt unseen, unwanted, or unworthy?

I have. I have felt unseen by those around me, by loved ones, even by God. I have felt unwanted by the world, people I care about, even by God. I have felt unworthy of love, attention, and the goodness of God. The world continually creeps in and tells me I am not enough because I don't look a certain way, have a certain career, live in a certain house, or have a certain style. Do you feel it too?

You Are More Than You've Been Told

We have a very real enemy who continually whispers in our ears. Who continually engages us in a battle. Who makes us feel less than every chance he can. In her new book You Are More Than You've Been Told, Hosanna Wong says, "The enemy cannot change who we are. He doesn't have that kind of power. His best plan is to make us doubt who we are." She also says, "Here is what I know today: If the enemy has come to steal, Jesus came to reclaim. If the enemy came to kill, Jesus came to bring life again. If the enemy has come to destroy, Jesus came to rebuild, renew, and restore in His name."

We have to silence the enemy and take captive the thoughts he places in our minds. We have to fight back with truth from The Truth. Wong says, " God's voice must be the loudest voice in our lives."

How do we let God's voice be the loudest? By diving in heart first into the Bible. By worshiping Him. By conversing with Him -talking and listening. Wong says, "A real, raw, and honest one-on-one conversation with the One who created you will help you feel like your true self again." When we spend real time with God, we grow in confidence of who we are and Whose we are.

You Are More Than You've Been Told is such an incredible book. Whether you are battling with feeling less than, irrelevant, or unworthy, or maybe you just want to grow in your walk with God, this book is a must. Grab your copy HERE or to enter to win a copy, click HERE.

Discussion:
1. Do you struggle with feelings of not being enough?
2. When those feelings come, what do you do to combat them?
