All over the world, children and faculty are heading back to school. I invite you to join me in praying as the new school year begins.
Dear Heavenly Father,
Families all over the world are prepping to send their children off to school. Whether elementary, middle school, high school, or college. Whether public school, private school, or homeschool. We lift them all to You.
We pray Your hand of protection around our students. Protect them physically, mentally, and emotionally. Keep Your angels encamped about them, guarding their bodies, minds, and hearts. We pray any plans the enemy has for our students, You would stop in Jesus name.
We pray our students learn well this year. Help them to put in effort, study hard, and learn much. When things come easy for them, help them to lend a helping hand to those who struggle in that area. When things are more difficult, help them to remember that even when things are hard, they can still put in effort and do well.
We pray that our students would be includers. That they would reach out to the friendless and include them. That they would be kind and compassionate. That they would offer kind smiles, friendly words, and helping hands. And that they would stand up against bullying.
We also lift up all school faculty. Whether teachers, administrators, janitor, lunch workers, or any others who work in our school systems.
We pray Your hand of protection around all school faculty. Protect them physically, mentally, and emotionally. Let there be no fear when they walk through the doors of their school. Let Your peace reside within them.
We pray You would teach them as they teach our students. Help them to have ears, eyes, and hearts open to see how the students learn. Let them have patience and show kindness to the students and other faculty members.
Help them rest well at night and wake up refreshed. Let them look at each new day as a new opportunity You've placed before them. Give them fresh eyes for each day, and just as You give us new mercies each morning, help them to have new mercies for others.
And finally, we lift up parents and families of students and faculty. Help them to have peace as their loved one enters school grounds. When it comes time for homework or grading papers, help the families to offer help, grace, and love. When there are days off, help them to use it wisely, making the most of the time together.
Father, we ask that this school year be a good year. A safe year for all. A year of growth. A year of friendship. A year of love.
We ask all of this in Jesus precious name, Amen.
I am a teacher a Montessori school. I join in you in praying for our teachers, our students, and our school system.
