“Through the LORD’s mercies we are not consumed, Because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.”

I love just how applicable this beautiful passage is to our daily lives!
You know that moment (ok, more like 10 different moments!) when you yelled at your kids yesterday? His mercies are new every morning.
You know that fight you had with your spouse last night? His mercies are new every morning.
You know how you got into a ridiculous debate again on social media even though you knew better (and you said things you now regret)? His mercies are new every morning.
You know how you turned away from the person on the street who could have used the good news of the gospel and a warm meal? His mercies are new every morning.
No matter what you did yesterday or today (or what you will do tomorrow!), His mercies are new every morning. Don’t use this as an excuse to go on sinning, certainly, but instead use the comfort and encouragement of this good news to inspire change in how you live going forward (and how you deal with your sin when it shows up yet again!).
I want to leave you today with these words from a new favorite song of mine lately. This is a song we sing at our church often and is entitled “His Mercies are More”:
“Praise the Lord!
His mercy is more
Stronger than darkness, new every morn
Our sins, they are many, His mercy is more”

1) Do you believe this? That His mercies truly are more?
2) If not, why not? What do you need to remind yourself about the truth of the good news of the gospel?
3) How can you use this truth to encourage someone today?
