This week, you may have seen news of the happenings taking place at Asbury University. Worshippers have been gathered for days in around-the-clock prayer services. When I look at what is happening there, and at other universities now across the country, the cry of my heart is -- Lord, let a revival begin in me!
I don't merely want to be a spectator on the sidelines of what God is doing. I want to see where God is moving and jump in with both feet!
We don't have to travel to a certain location, though, for God to move within our hearts. The good news is that God is not limited by our location, and He can move within each of us no matter where we are! Today, I'm praying that God would let a revival begin within my heart.
"If my people who are called by my name humble themselves,
and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways,
then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land."
2 Chronicles 7:14
God tells us in His Word that He will hear our cries and heal our land. The first word of the verse is very important for us to notice: "If". This shows us our part in welcoming a revival in our hearts. Any time we see an "if... then" in the Bible, we can understand a "cause...effect" scenario.
We must humble ourselves, pray and seek God's face, and turn from our wicked ways. This shows us the need to recognize who God is and that we are nothing apart from Him. We must take time to pray and seek God's face. We must also repent of our sins and turn from our wicked ways.
Today, I challenge each of us to set aside time to do these things and ask God to move in each of our hearts. Let's not be spectators on the sidelines of what God is doing, but let's seek God together and ask Him to move in our hearts.
Let revival begin in me.
Yes, he is moving mountains! Thank you for your beautiful words.
