Every moment of every day the world tries to label us.
Not enough.
Unloved.
Coward.
Weak.
Unwanted.
Alone.
The problem with the labels thrown our way is that we allow the labels to stick. We let the world throw these sticky little lies on us and we don't even attempt to remove them. Friend, these labels are not only lies, but they are lies straight from the enemy.
How do we combat lies? With truth! When a label falls on us, we need to remove it and replace it with a truth from God.
You are enough. You are literally the handiwork of God, and God did not create anyone or anything that is not enough.
For we are God’s handiwork,
created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do.
Ephesians 2:10
You are loved. God loves you so much that He sent His only son to die for you and Jesus loves you so much that He willingly died for you. For you.
For God so loved the world that He
gave His one and only Son, that
whoever believes in Him shall not
perish but have eternal life.
John 3:16
You are brave. You can be brave and courageous knowing that God is with you. With Him, we have nothing to fear.
Be strong and courageous. Do not
be afraid or terrified because of them,
for the Lord your God goes with you;
He will never leave you nor forsake you.
Deuteronomy 31:6
You are strong. When we are weak, that is when God's power is made perfect. When we feel weak, we only need to lean into the Father.
But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient
for you, for My power is made perfect in
weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the
more gladly about my weaknesses, so
that Christ’s power may rest on me.
2 Corinthians 12:9
You are wanted. God created you on purpose. That is proof that He wanted you. Not only did He create you, but He made adopted you in and made you His.
Consequently, you are no longer foreigners
and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s
people and also members of His household.
Ephesians 2:19
You are never alone. The Lord is always with you. He promises to always be there and never leave us. When you feel alone, call out to Him and He will answer.
The Lord Himself goes before you
and will be with you; He will never
leave you nor forsake you. Do not
be afraid; do not be discouraged.
Deuteronomy 31:8
When the labels of the enemy try sticking to you, speak truth and let the Lord say who you are.
It's time for Share A Link Wednesday! Each Wednesday we invite you to leave a link to your latest blog post in the comments. We still desire to connect women of God with one another and encourage each other in Christ. So grab a cup of coffee or glass of sweet tea, sit back and visit a few blogs. Be encouraged and share your own stories.
Such beautiful Truths. I have spent much of my life believing so many of the labels thrown at me. They have stuck, for sure. In my journey with Christ for these 28 years, I have been able to unstick some, no, probably most of them. Even the ones with Gorilla Glue! Thank you for adding God's Word with each label. I will write these in my journal to remind me when I forget because they had become so ingrained! God's glue removal is the only and the best!!

So true--we need to constantly evaluate what we hear and replace falsehood with truth.
ReplyDeleteI wrote this week about the times it says in Acts that the apostles strengthened the disciples, and what we can learn from them: https://barbaraleeharper.com/2021/08/08/strengthening-others/.
