Have you ever wanted to be in the top 3 percent? Your class, your career, your goal-setting? Well, I have a simple tip for you today, and you'll be in the top 3 percent (or even higher) if you start applying it!
I was looking through my stats on social media recently. On all the posts I share, I can see the analytics as the creator. After doing a lot of math, my overall engagement rate (likes, comments and shares) is around 3 percent. That means out of every 100 people that see my post, only about three of them are liking or commenting on it, or even sharing it.
What a low number that is! I know, we're all in a hurry. It's easier just to scroll through without engaging. But on the posts that at least one person liked or commented on, I get triple or quadruple the views. That's how the algorithms are set up - to reward posts with more views when they have interaction.
Let's look at this focus verse:
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
1 Thessalonians 5:11 NIV
The Bible tells us to encourage one another and build each other up. A very simple way to do this is to like others' social media posts and leave an encouraging comment, or even share their posts if you feel so moved. By doing this, you'll be sharing encouragement even further and wider than you can do on your own, since the algorithms are set up to help you.
Yet we need to go beyond giving more interaction on social media (though I certainly appreciate your interaction as a content creator). We need to be intentional about encouraging others every day, in this darkening world that is desperate for encouragement.
Being in the top 3 percent of encouragers is relatively easy. I had to put a ton of work into being in the top 3 percent of my graduating classes, and I'm so grateful for the gifts and opportunities God provided to help me get to that point. Compared to all that work, being a top 3 percent encourager is so much easier!
It takes such little effort to encourage others. Yet it makes a huge difference that spreads further than you will ever know. Consider this example: If you are the only customer who says a kind word to your waitress all day, her spirits may be lifted for hours, and she may be able to serve others with a kinder spirit. She may even go home with a lighter step, and be kinder to her family that evening.
This concept applies everywhere: with your spouse, children, extended family, coworkers, fellow drivers and shoppers...the list continues. You can make a difference in so many ways as you commit to encouraging others, even inspiring them to join the top 3 percent with you.
Will you ask God to show you how you can encourage at least one other person today? Will you commit to praying for this daily, inviting God to do a mighty work in you? He will be all too happy to help you get into that top 3 percent (or even higher!) for his glory, friend.

Finding Peace in God's Word
My husband and I were talking last night about how a five minute conversation can plant a God seed that grows and grows to change and save - a five minute conversations where maybe one sentence was the seed. Encouragement is such a powerful seed! Thank you for encouraging!
