The Lord Directs Our Steps

There have been times when I've questioned the direction of the Lord in our lives, times when things didn't turn out the way I thought they should, times when He led us through valleys that I didn't think we were going to make it through. It's afterwards, (Not always right away. Sometimes it's taken quite a while!), that in hindsight I can see how He set us up to not only make it through, but to come through the valley stronger in Him. Looking back I see His handiwork in the details, the ways He provided just in time or the way He would send some encouragement when we were just about to give up.

Psalm 77:11 says,  "I recall all You have done O, Lord. I remember your wonderful deeds..."
I think it's so important for us to keep some type of a record of God's leading, care and concern for us in the details of our life, to recall the things that God has done and write them down somewhere so we won't forget all of His wonderful deeds.

In the book of Deuteronomy the children of Israel were frequently reminded to tell their children and grandchildren of all the ways God had led them, provided for them and rescued them. He wanted HIS story in their lives to become the history of the coming generations.

Have your ever shared Your God story with your friends and loved ones - how God has led you through good times and bad, how He's lovingly cared about the details of your life? As we gather with our loved ones this coming Thanksgiving how great would it be to not only give thanks to God but to share a bit of His story in our lives with one another.

  1. "He wanted HIS story in their lives to become the history of the coming generations." Yes, may our stories always point back to Him. Blessings!

  2. What an inspiring thought that even as in the Old Testament when his people were misbehaving, he still delighted in them as he does with us in this world today.
