The Personal God Who Knows You Personally

This year my husband and I each turned sixty two. Sixty two! I can hardly wrap my mind around it because most of the time I still feel young. But, once in a while my body reminds me that I'm not as young as I feel inside. It can be kind of scary to wonder what the future holds as I grow older. I think that the truth is, facing an unknown future can be kind of scary at any age. We can take comfort in the fact that God fully knows and understands us and He knows what we need no matter what age we are and no matter what situation we face.

The senior year of high school can be intimidating. There's a lot of pressure to have the direction of your life and future all figured out. Some direction and guidance from God is much needed. He hears, He knows and He meets you at your point of need when you ask Him for help.

It can feel like you're drowning in laundry, dishes and feelings of inadequacy when you're a mama of little ones.  The enormity of the responsibility to keep little ones healthy, safe and secure as well as to disciple and mold little lives can be overwhelming. You need a whole lot of wisdom as well as a whole lot of strength when you are weary. God has an endless supply of both for you.

Every career has its ups and downs and challenges. God sees the employees that depend on you or that boss who expects too much of you and appreciates you too little or that co-worker who rubs you the wrong way. There's nothing about you or your job that God doesn't see and care about.

Those are just a few possible life scenarios. I don't really know you or your age or situation, but God does. He's a personal God Who knows you personally. He knows your every need, every desire of your heart and every detail about your life and circumstances. He not only knows, He cares. He not only cares, but He wants to help you. The God Who was and is and is to come is with you in your present circumstances and will walk with you into your future. He wants to satisfy your needs and renew your strength every step of the way.

  1. I love that you mentioned different scenarios and seasons of life. Whenever I need to remind myself of God's love, care and concern for me, I remember my history with Him. (That's one benefit of growing older!) Although I've failed Him, the Lord has never failed me.

    1. I agree! Whenever I get anxious about the future I just look back and see how faithful God has been through every season!

  2. Having turned the very same age, I can relate to this post quite well! Psalm 103 is one of my favorite passages as it speaks of the benefits of God throughout our entire lives. So grateful to be reminded that He is a personal God who knows every one of our days and gives strength for each day. Have a blessed Sunday!

    1. Joanne, I love that we are the same age! We are old enough to have perspective, to see decades of God's care and faithfulness in our lives and to be comforted with the realization that He will, indeed, be faithful through the end of our days.
