Romans
8 is like a treasure chest, full to the brim of God's peace.
Romans 8:1 gives me peace, because I am no longer
condemned in Christ Jesus.
I gain peace from Romans 8:9, from the truth that I am no longer controlled by my sinful nature, but by the Holy Spirit.
Romans 8:11 grants me peace as I learn that the Holy Spirit, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in me! That's so powerful!
I gain even more peace for knowing that what I
suffer for now is nothing compared to the glory that awaits me as a child of
God (Romans 8:18).
There is even more peace to discover in the famous verse 28, and the exuberance of verses 38 and 39. Anytime I need peace, I head to this chapter, considered the crown jewel of the gospel by many Bible scholars.
So much peace can be found in this rich chapter. I hope you find peace in this chapter today and in the future. Take a few quiet moments today to open your Bible and discover the peaceful treasures in this chapter.
I'm focusing on Romans 8 this busy August. It's really helping me, because I'm seeking more peace these days, and I'm finding it in the treasure trove of God's Word. You can find more peace in this busy season by studying this chapter too!
Here's a prayer to encourage you today:
Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the beautiful truth of your Word.
You have preserved it for centuries, and I am grateful.
Help me dig into the treasures of the book of Romans today, especially chapter 8.
I am eager to learn what you have in store for me.
Teach me from your word today, like you taught your disciples.
In Jesus' name, Amen.
