We've all had them. Bad days happen all the time. There's sickness, disagreements with our spouse, kids not listening, dogs running away, an unexpected bill comes, a boss that is unfair, traffic, a wrong order in the drive through, a burned dinner, jeans that won't fit, we could go on and on really. Sometimes Murphy's law is in full effect, you know, everything that can go wrong will.
The thing is, while every day may not be a good day, there is good in every day. We only have to look for it.
How can we find the good when we have a no-good, rotten day? We find the blessing.
What in your day was a blessing? You woke up, blessing number one. Do you have a roof over your head, there's blessing two. Did the sweet aroma of coffee fill your kitchen, blessing three. Did you glimpse a smile on your sweet child's face, blessing. If you have a job to go to there's another blessing. The sun shining, the breeze blowing on a hot day, getting a green light when you are running behind, a kiss from your husband, a bed to sleep in, food to feed your family, a smile from the cashier at the store, the wave of a hand from a neighbor, these are all blessings.
Always giving thanks to God the Father for everything,
in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 5:20
We are blessed. Even on the hard days. Even in the chaos. We simply need to look for the blessing. Share in the comments one good thing you can find in today, even if it's been a hard day.
It's time for Share A Link Wednesday! Each Wednesday we invite you to leave a link to your latest blog post in the comments. We still desire to connect women of God with one another and encourage each other in Christ. So grab a cup of coffee or glass of sweet tea, sit back and visit a few blogs. Be encouraged and share your own stories.
It's so true that there IS good in everyday. Some days it's just not as obvious. :) But it's always there because God is in each day.
ReplyDeleteMy latest post is about continuing the conversation with God when we read stories in the Bible:

It is so true and something I have been thinking on myself. We are blessed and sometimes, we simply need to look for the blessing.

Yesterday I battled a migraine, rare for me. But I was thankful for pain relievers, that I had nothing urgent I had to do that day, so I could rest, that my husband brought home take-out for dinner.

I am in a season of change: I lost my husband to cancer just one year ago...already! Everything has changed for me. Each day is new and I want to see God in them all. Yet, I do not...but that is only now and then. Most of the time, I have my heart and eyes facing the beauty of the Lord. When I do not, He still is right there waiting for me to turn and see all of Who He is. I am so grateful to be able to walk this season of life with Him. I do not know how people do this without Him. Truly, I do not.
