I posted this on my Facebook page earlier this week. It's still weighing
heavy on my heart, so I thought I'd share with you!
I'm having a
little bit of a hard time. I see so many people on Facebook who proclaim to be
a Christian and yet their posts are mean and hateful. Some even border on
bullying!
Matthew 4:4
says, "44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse
you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use
you, and persecute you;"
If we
proclaim that we are a Christian, a Christ follower, and we spend our time
bashing people all over Facebook, we aren't following the instructions given to
us in God's word! 1 John 2:4 tells us that..."If someone claims, 'I know
God,' but doesn’t obey God’s commandments, that person is a liar and is not
living in the truth."
This tells
me that claiming to be a Christian but not obeying God's commandments makes you
are a liar! I challenge you to T.H.I.N.K. before you post...
T - is it
True (not hearsay, not an opinion, but factual!)?
H - is it
Helpful?
I - is it
Inspiring?
N - is it
Necessary?
K - is it
Kind?
