Long and difficult describe many days of
motherhood. Still other days filled with happiness
and laughter spill out as precious memories in the landscape of time. The challenge for us lies in the knowledge that we never know which day it will be, on any given morning as our feet hit the
floor and we start the day. In each of these days, we can rest in the promises
of God’s word. The good and the bad in light of God’s truth can encourage our
hearts when we hurt, and keep us grounded when the days are easy.
I love the word “exults.”
It has a deeper meaning for me than just rejoice and be joyful. The dictionary
lists the following definition – “show or feel elation or jubilation,
especially as the result of a success.”
The synonyms are
helpful as well “rejoice, be joyful, be happy, be
delighted, be elated, be ecstatic, be overjoyed, be
jubilant, be rapturous, be in raptures, be thrilled, jump
for joy, be on cloud nine, be in seventh heaven.”
Can you say you
are “on cloud nine?” Instead of waiting for the perfect day, or the perfect
job, perfect children, etc. we can exult because of the Lord! He is our strength, shield and our help. With
this promise firmly in hand, we can choose Joy and live a life filled with
gratefulness.
Will you join me today in singing praise and thankfulness to Him?
