We all have things we value and hold of importance. It could be our homes, cars, jobs, clothes or sports. It could even be the worries of the day that drag us down and take us off focus.
Here's the thing. None. Of. Those. Things. Truly. Matter.
The one and only thing that matters is God. It's something that we should know down deep in our hearts and it's also something that can be swept aside sooner than we can blink. The enemy can creep it's way into our lives causing us to get off track and justify what we're doing or thinking, without even giving it a second thought.
"Do not store up for yourselves treasure on earth, where moths and vermin destroy and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also." ~ Matthew 6:19-21
Friends, the world has changed. What's right is wrong, and what's wrong is right. Society has changed into a me first generation and put all their focus on themselves and off of God. If it feels good do it, regardless of the consequences it may have for eternity.
If we really think about it, this is truly heartbreaking.
Let's take a stand in word and action. Let's be the change this world needs as we stand up for what truly matters.
Over these past few months I have been quiet at Woman to Woman. I needed time to be still.
As I have searched my heart, a deep yearning to know my Savior, in a very real way, is what has taken first place in my life. More than anything, I want to know Him. I want to seek after Him with all that I am and share with others what a wonderful God He is.
The things in this world whether worldly goods or problems and worries, can't come first for me anymore.
My treasure is found in Jesus Christ alone.
Where is your treasure friends? Where do you want your heart's focus to be at? What do you want to teach the children of the next generation?
"If you look at the world, you'll be distressed. If you look within, you'll be depressed. But if you look at Christ, you'll be at rest." ~ Corrie Ten Boom
