We all go through hard times. Times that seem as if they will never end. We may even shake our fists in anger as we ask, "Why are you allowing this to happen to me God?"
I've been there myself a time or two.
Living with stage 4 breast cancer is not an easy thing. It's hard. It's tiring. At times it leaves me exhausted while my bones ache with pain. It's like a cloud that follows me around, and I never know when the rain will start and the lighting will strike.
We've all had our share of storms.
For you it may not be cancer, it could be divorce, money problems, a prodigal child, the list can be endless. We all have stories to tell. Stories that we never dreamed we would be a part of, stories where we wish we could turn the page, slam the book shut, put it on the shelf and never open it again.
We may be lost, not knowing what to do next. Sometimes, the thing to do may be to sit in silence as you wonder if God hears your desperate prayers.
"Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done."
~ Luke 22:24
Here's the thing. I promise...
He knows what He's doing.
He hears your cries, he hears your desperate prayers. He sees every tear that falls and He knows your heart is breaking. I promise you that your prayers do not go unanswered, they just may not get answered the way we want them to.
Just as Jesus prayed before His crucifixion, "yet not my will, but yours be done." We may not see it now but God has a plan. Hold tight to His promises for He is ever faithful. Even though you may not sense Him near, He is right by your side, working it all out, according to His will and His plan.
Keep hanging on sisters, He knows what He's doing.
