Escaped from the snare...

God never intended you and I to live a stuck, trapped life.  The enemy, on the other hand, wants to keep us in a snare, to keep us as his own personal prisoner of war.  In satan's prison, he deprives us of light, space and food.  he* loves to make us feel like the darkness is winning, that we are and always will be confined, limited, and spiritually emaciated. Expert fowler that he is, he knows what type of snare works best for each of us and what bait to use.  he can't read our minds, but he has studied us.  he knows our history, our life experiences, our strengths and our weaknesses.  he knows what sin snare that you would be most prone to, what negative emotion will most likely trip you up, what wrong way of thinking that he can take advantage of in your life.  his worst nightmare is seeing you free and soaring and fulfilling God's purpose and destiny.

BUT, our help, your help and my help, is in the name of the Lord!  Jesus didn't come and die for you just so He could watch you perpetually struggle in your bondage.  Whatever snare you are feeling trapped in, a snare of sin, a snare of bitterness, a snare of depression and hopelessness, a snare of unforgiveness, a snare of pain and betrayal, Jesus came to break that snare and to set you free! Psalm 91:3 says, "He will deliver you from the snare of the fowler".  Staying stuck and trapped in sin or spiritual, mental, emotional torment and bondage is not God's will, purpose or destiny for you.  His will is for you to be free as a bird.  He came to break whatever snare you are in and to help you escape.  Call upon God's name.  Ask Him for help.  Humble yourself enough to ask for help and prayer from trustworthy, faith filled believers.  Soak your mind in the truth of God's Word until your mind, will and emotions are convinced that His will for you is freedom and wholeness.  Because it is! He is our bondage breaking, snare crushing God.

(*I choose to always capitalize the name of God and the pronouns used for Him out of respect.  It is my personal preference to never capitalize the name of satan or the pronouns used for him because I do not want to give him that honor.  This is a personal preference and by no means a rule of thumb for others.)

  3. What a great read you share for me this morning. Your words are as if God himself is speaking to what I've been struggling with and exactly where the unworthiness thoughts are coming from. I needed to read this today. Thank you. :)

  4. "Staying stuck and trapped in sin or spiritual, mental, emotional torment and bondage is not God's will, purpose or destiny for you" - I'm learning to avoid those snares - and when I get tangled in them, I'm learning to more quickly call the Father to untangle me! Your post is warm encouragement! An Amen reminder, Elizabeth!

I, too, refuse to capitalize any names or pronouns for the enemy!
