Emily Miller
Be the spark that sets the whole field ablaze.
What do I mean by this, you may ask?
Well, if you have noticed the community around you becoming lukewarm, or becoming worldly and losing all fire and passion for God, you may just be the spark that could ignite them again.
How do you, as just one single person, become the single spark to ignite the world around you? It's simple. You become a leader by leading from example. When you spend your time reading in the word and in deep, meaningful prayer, this shows up in your countenance, as Christ becomes mirrored in your attitude and people begin to see that there is something different about you.
If you are living a happy, purpose-filled life following Christ, people see this is the manner in which you go about your day to day activities. They are going to wonder what you are doing that makes you act so differently from all the rest of the world. This is turn will make them start to ask questions, which opens up doors for leading people back to Christ.
You may be very much an introvert like I am. That being said, we ALREADY have a tendency to stick out like sore thumbs in a world that cannot stop talking for one moment.
Let me tell you something, though, the Lord values a gentle and quiet spirit that resonates from the heart.
You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.
-1 Peter 3:4
If you are naturally quiet and are not too fond of standing up to lead a group publically, the good news is God still works through you!
For it is our inner spirits that draw people to us, that make them want to get to know us and ask what do we have that they don't have.
It is precisely through these opportunities that we can start an evangelical ministry of our own, getting a chance to talk to other people about Christ by drawing them in by our actions first.
You never know if you may be just the single spark that in the end, winds up setting the whole entire field ablaze in revival.
Which, if you have not noticed, this world happens to need so desperately right now.
So, keep it up, my introverted sisters! Shine the light of Jesus as your actions can sometimes speak louder than words.
Blessings-
Emily
