This Tuesday is Valentine's day.
I am sure ALL of you ladies already know this. Some of you may be excited for the day. Or on the other hand, you may be reading this rolling your eyes at the very reminder of the over commercialized holiday.
My message today is possibly geared for more of the single ladies such as myself out there. It can be summed up by the following verse:
Guard your heart above all else, for it determines the course of your life.
-Proverbs 4:23
Ladies, if you happen to be facing yet another Valentine's day single like I am, do not be discouraged. Do not go running after a kind of love that God may not have prepared for you.
Promise me, O women of Jerusalem, not to awaken love until the time is right.
-Song of Solomon 8:4
Wait for love to become "ripe" like it is roughly alluded to in Song of Solomon. Guard your heart, and when you do happen to set out on a relationship, prayerfully ask God for strength and guidance as to if the relationship you are seeking is truly the one God has meant for you to be in your life.
Don't become easily infatuated just to feel the affection all women crave. Guard your heart, and do not give it away until all the signs have been made clear to you by God that you should do otherwise.
Who you give your heart to may very well impact your rest of your life.
Happy Valentine's day, ladies. Be sure to celebrate no matter if you may be single, in a relationship, or married. Remember that God loves you all!
Blessings
-Emily
I was very encouraged by this post, Emily, and am encouraged to see your growth in the Lord as you wait patiently for the right man from God. :) Thanks for writing this up!
