As I sit here and write this, I'm staring at the boxes that line my closet wall. Tomorrow the process begins, we will start the packing, we will be moving and we have no idea where we're moving too.
Two weeks ago we received the notice, it's time to move. The owners of the house, who are pastors, are retiring and they want to move back into the house that they own.
I bet you can here my deep sigh all the way across the computer screen where you are sitting.
Life can through us curve balls that hurt our hearts and make us question what did we do wrong.
Through this process I am learning one important thing.
"We live by faith, not by sight." - 2 Corinthians 5:7
Of course we're going through the process, of course we're looking for houses. However, even though we may not know where we will be moving to, God does. God has this all under control. He sees farther ahead than I can and He knows that there is provision down the road.
My job during this time is to trust Him, to have faith in Him. It's time to breath in deep and hand it all over to Him. He's got this under control.
Whatever you're facing today sisters, whether it be a move, a job search, or a troubled marriage. Do what the heavenly Father asks you to do, and then leave it with Him.
Have faith.
I promise you He has it all under control.
"Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls." - 1 Peter 1:8-9 (NIV)

ReplyDeleteOh wow! You know, in many places landlords are required by law to give tenants 30 days notice. But I understand why you may not want to insist on that in these circumstances. Some years ago when we were planning a move out of state and trying to make trips there to househunt, and being concerned about all the aspects, in my Daily Light devotional book was Deuteronomy 1:33: "who went before you in the way to seek you out a place to pitch your tents, in fire by night and in the cloud by day, to show you by what way you should go." I shared that with my husband, and he said, "Does that mean we'll be living in a tent?" LOL! Thankfully not. And though I wished there were some definitive direction markers like a pillar of fire or cloud, it nevertheless encouraged me greatly that God had searched out a place ahead of us. I'm praying for His direction and grace in this season of your life.
ReplyDeletePraying for God's open door and abundant provision!
ReplyDeleteWow, what a great example you are setting by your faithfulness!
