Have you ever had one of those days when you've just had enough?
That was me today.....
I bet almost all of us have been in this situation at one time or another.
Life can be cold and hard at times. Financial difficulties, health issues, family drama and more can be enough to knock us down to our knees and leave us reeling in pain.
Friends, when the storms of life hit swiftly against your soul remember you're not alone. There is hope, there is relief, and these times will not last forever.
When troubles arrive I try to remember that good can come out of these times. Through these trials, I glean to the fact that God is working things out for my good, molding me into His image, so I can become the person He wants me to be.
"Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."
2 Corinthians 4:16-18 (NIV)
When I get worn down and burdened with the problems of life there are a few steps that I like to take which help me to overcome what's going on around me.
- When difficulties happen the first thing I like to do is step away from the situation. I can think so much clearer when my mind is focused on something else and I've had a chance to calm down.
- Secondly, I like to take it to the Lord in prayer. When I can push away all the outside distractions and pour my heart out to the Savior, I feel like I've stepped back on the right path. I know that I can trust in His goodness and guidance to see me through.
- Thirdly, I like to share my heart with my husband. My husband is my best friend and my partner for life. I feel so much better when I can share my concerns with him so he knows how to pray for me through out the day.
- If my husband is not available I have two close friends who I can share my heart with. I take comfort in knowing that my concerns are safe with them. I also know that they will lift my trials to the Lord in prayer.
"but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint." ~ Isaiah 40:31 (NIV)

Shari, I read last night that when we "wait for" or "hope in" the Lord, as in Is. 40:30, we become entwined or woven together with Him. No wonder we gain new strength! Thanks for today's encouragement!
ReplyDeleteShari thank you for these words to help others when they need strength and thank you for the link-up.
