As kids we are taught the golden rule, which, by the way, is also a Bible verse.
Our parents teach us this rule. Our teachers teach us this rule. We recite it over and over as we learn that we need to treat others the way we want to be treated. Then we, in turn, teach it to our children.
Yet, we don't apply it to our marriage.
The golden rule should apply to all people and all relationships, especially marriage.
If you want your husband to respect you more, respect him first.
If you want your husband to kiss you more, kiss him first.
If you want your husband to say 'I love you' more, say it to him first.
If you want your husband to date you more, plan the date first.
Whatever it is you are waiting on your husband to do or whatever it is you want him to be better at, you do it first. Treat him the way you want to be treated.
It is that simple my friends!

Do unto others as you would have them do to you.

Thank you so much for this golden rule!
