I've often wondered why it is so difficult to have consistency in life. What I mean by this is.....being consistent with what should matter most in our lives.
We know in our hearts what should be most important, Christ first, family second, then work and friends third. However, life can throw us curve balls, blindside us, and take us off guard and we quickly forget.
The only thing that can help when life gets topsy turvy, is to make a full on conscious decision every day to follow Christ.
"Then Jesus told his disciples, "If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross and follow me." - Matthew 16:24

We must come to the reality that the need to follow Christ daily is just as important as it is to breath. As we breath in our lungs fill with life giving air, likewise when we breath in the reality of Christ and His written Word, our souls fill with life giving strength and energy to make it through the day. We have to give ourselves daily reminders that Christ must come first, because if we choose to put Him last, and get overwhelmed with the events of the day, that will make us feel even less powerful as we try to face the days struggles on our own.
Do whatever it takes to make sure you follow Christ above all else. Whether it's setting alarms to remind yourself to dig into the Word and pray, or possibly putting up sticky notes to remind yourself to give Christ first place in your day, or even enlisting an accountability partner to make sure you stay on course.
If it hasn't already become practice in your life, give yourself at least 5 minutes a day to do 3 things.

- Pray
- Read God's Word
- Worship
When you do these 3 things every day it'll leave you with a desire for wanting more and more. This daily decision will leave your cup overflowing as you grow in your relationship with Him.
Won't you join me friends as we daily decide to follow Him?
Won't you join me friends as we daily decide to follow Him?
"Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life." - John 8:12
I have decided to follow Jesus
- I have decided to follow Jesus;I have decided to follow Jesus;I have decided to follow Jesus; No turning back, no turning back.
- Though I may wonder, I still will follow;Though I may wonder, I still will follow;Though I may wonder, I still will follow; No turning back, no turning back.
- The world behind me, the cross before me;The world behind me, the cross before me;The world behind me, the cross before me;No turning back, no turning back.
- Though none go with me, still I will follow;Though none go with me, still I will follow;Though none go with me, still I will follow; No turning back, no turning back.
- Will you decide now to follow Jesus? Will you decide now to follow Jesus? Will you decide now to follow Jesus? No turning back, no turning back.
