Each chapter is different than the last, each building upon the other to weave a tale that reflects who we are, where we've come from, and where we're going. Each one carries it's own weight, without one, the others would not make sense.
Sometimes it's easy to try and rush through each chapter of our lives quickly, just hoping that we might get to a better, or more exiting point in our stories.
But here's the thing.....
If we rush, we miss out.
We miss out on the beauty of the simple. The beauty of the ordinary. The beauty of the quiet. The beauty of the details that don't always catch our eye.
The chapters in our lives are synonymous with the ever changing seasons. Each one is an important stopping point where God wants us to step into, and fully embrace.
If we miss out on these times, we are missing out on important learning opportunities from God, important times where we can grow closer to him. These times are gifts from the God. Gifts that are made to cherish and treasure.
It's time to slow down! Slow down and enjoy the here and now. Enjoy what's right in front of us, and not what's down the road.

"There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:" ~ Ecclesiastes 4:12Our lives are the equivalent of books found on shelves in great libraries across the world. Some lives can be looked at as great mysteries, others as romantic comedies, and others as memoirs of courageous tales of missionaries who have served the Lord.

God tells us in Psalm 46:10, "Be still and know that I am God."
It's when we slow down and are truly still, that we can hear God's voice the loudest. In the act of slowing down we can move away from the noise and distractions and can be thankful for what's before us.
Let's start today friends. Let's slow down and appreciate life a chapter and a time, and all the beauty that it holds.
It is time for our Woman to Woman Word Filled Wednesday Link Up. We desire to connect women of God with one another and encourage each other in Christ. So grab a cup of coffee, sit back and visit a few blogs. Be encouraged and share your own stories in their comments.

Three rules to this link up:
1. Must be a {Christian} faith post.
2. You must link back to W2W somewhere in your post.
3. You must visit and comment on at least one other blog in the link up.
I appreciate the gentle nudge to stop and embrace the blessing of today. It is a message that is clearly heaven sent as it echoes the admonition to be still and let god BE...let Him BE in our moments and embrace it. And I am continually amazed at His grace in re-teaching this lesson to me, again...and again. :) Thanks for the reminder!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Dawn

DeleteThis is one of my favorite verses. It is true, life goes by fast enough as it is. We don't need to rush it. Thank you for the link up.
