Have you ever prayed for God to guide you? I have. Many, many times. I've asked God to lead me in the way He wants me to go. To guide my path. To show me His ways. I've said all of it over and over. It's a great prayer to pray. But it's a prayer that requires some action on our part.
We need to move our feet.
If we truly want God to guide us, to lead us in the way we should go, we have to be willing to move our feet in that direction.
Proverbs 3:6 tells us, "In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path."
Asking God to guide us is the easy part. Moving our feet isn't always easy. I've asked God to show me what to do, but when I feel like He is, I balk. Sometimes out of fear of the unknown, fear of failing, or sometimes just laziness. When we ask God to guide us, He will. But we have to obey.
What is it you have been asking God to guide you in? Have you been hesitating, afraid to move? Or are you ready to move your feet?
It is time for our Woman to Woman Word Filled Wednesday Link Up. We desire to connect women of God with one another and encourage each other in Christ. So grab a cup of coffee, sit back and visit a few blogs. Be encouraged and share your own stories in their comments.
Use the hashtag #w2wwordfilledwednesday!
Three rules to this link up:
1. Must be a {Christian} faith post.
2. You must link back to W2W somewhere in your post.
3. You must visit and comment on at least one other blog in the link up.
He can lay out the path, but we will only progress in our journey when we walk forward! Love this thought. I am not so much guilty of hesitation as I am of rushing forward in a full-on sprint when He really wants me to walk slowly and purposefully :)
ReplyDeleteThat is one of my favorite quotes!
ReplyDeleteI have been asking God to guide me in many things. Sometimes my stubbornness, or my fear of failing gets in the way. Thank you for this great reminder.
ReplyDeleteThis is my prayer also. I do not want to quit too soon or go too fast in front of God. Sometimes both can be equally difficult.
