Today's fruit is goodness.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience,
kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
Galatians 5:22-23
Your marriage will never, ever, ever be perfect. Let's just get that out of the way now. It will not happen. Why? Because marriage is made up of two flawed human beings. Two sinful creatures. While your marriage does not have a chance of being perfect, it can be good.
To have a good marriage, we need to be good. How can we be good in marriage? Here are a few ways:
- Take your spouse's feelings, thoughts, ideas, and preferences into consideration.
- Be kind. Even when you don't feel like it.
- Forgive easily.
- Share your heart.
- Listen closely. Even to words left unspoken.
- Never stop learning about your husband.
- Never stop dating.
- Pray for your husband daily.
Practice goodness in your marriage and you will have a good marriage.
What other ways can you think of to show goodness in your marriage?
