Families are a lot like the body of Christ. In each instance, different members come together to play a unique role as they reach towards a common good. No one should ever think of him or herself as better than anyone else, but rather in humility looking out for other person's best interest with a servants heart.
"For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you. Just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others." ~ Romans 12:3-5
I was reminded this weekend that we are all part of the body of Christ, each member designed for a specific purpose to build and uplift the other, while proclaiming the goodness of Christ. It's so easy to forget this, so easy to get blindsided, by our own desires to seek out the fulfillment of our own needs and wishes.
When we get caught in the trap of the "me first" mentality we miss what's most important.....others and their deep yearning for something more.....the desire to be loved and accepted in the same way that Christ loves us.
"A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." ~ John 13:34-35
This week I challenge you to look outside your comfort zone.

This week I challenge you to look outside your comfort zone.
Pray that Christ would give you His eyes to see more than your own needs, but rather the needs of others. Look beyond and see how you can be a blessing to others and in return you will be surprised at how you have been blessed by God's goodness as well.

Three rules to this link up:
1. Must be a {Christian} faith post.
2. You must link back to W2W somewhere in your post.
3. You must visit and comment on at least one other blog in the link up.
Beautiful reminder to think of others. Thinking of ourself is easy, but we need to put others first and love like Christ.
