This is an easy, "go to" recipe that has very few ingredients. You can throw it in the crock pot and let it cook while you are working, at ball games, shopping, etc. Very simple yet really delicious!

I love chicken and noodles but never thought of doing it in the crock pot! Definitely going to try that!
ReplyDeleteThis looks wonderful. Gonna have to try it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for this! This one looks like one the kids will go for! I'll have to give it a go. Blessings! Visiting from Word Filled Wednesday (Considering Grace)
ReplyDeleteDo u have to defrost the chicken first or did u just put it in frozen?
ReplyDeleteLeighona, I've done it frozen and thawed. Frozen just takes an extra hour or two in the crockpot. :)
DeleteHow many servings does this make?
ReplyDeleteJessica, this feeds my family of six and we normally have leftovers for lunch the next day.

ReplyDeleteCan you make this without using the crockpot? Wondering if it will turn out the same ...
ReplyDeleteColleen, YES! I make it without the crockpot all the time. Boil your chicken first. Remove the chicken, using the same water, boil the noodles. Shred chicken. Add chicken to noodles. Keep the water, do not drain. Put into 13x9 pan and bake for 15-20 min at 350*. **I add Velveta cheese for a different flavor. :)
DeleteWhen do you add in the butter, cream of chicken soup, and the chicken broth?
DeleteKatie, you add them from the beginning. :)
DeleteYes, I just use a big Dutch oven bring my broth to boil. Seasoned with season salt, pepper, garlic powder and i add a drop or two of yellow food coloring.
DeleteDrop noodles in stir and cook on medium for about 25 minutes stirring occasionally Sooooo goood
I don’t usually add chicken but you can

ReplyDeleteWhat are frozen egg noodles??
ReplyDeleteCheck in the freezer section of your grocery store, usually near other frozen breads, rolls, etc. Not all stores carry them, but you might be surprised. They're delicious-- thicker and more "bready," sorta like dumplings.
DeleteMaking this for the third time today, requested by my 6 year old for his birthday dinner. Love this recipe!
ReplyDeleteCould I cook the egg noodle stove top and then add to the crock pot?
ReplyDeleteTabitha, yes you could, but I wouldn't put them in the crock pot too long.
DeleteI finish everything up in crockpot and then cook noodles separate and serve immediately.
DeleteI want to add carrots and celery, when should I? In the beginning or when I add the noodles?
ReplyDeleteOoh! Great idea! I would say maybe halfway. They'll take longer than the noodles but not as long as the chicken. Hope that helps!

DeleteCan I use regular dry egg noodles?
ReplyDeleteThis is the first review I have ever left on Pintrest. My test of a good recipe is one that stands the test of time and this is one of those recipes. I have made numerous times over the last two years and have gotten my extensive family hooked on it. It is easy, delicious, and comforting. I do everything the recipe says but I use egg noodles as I make extra to freeze and the frozen noodles kinda dissolve. Thanks for the recipe.
