"13 No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to humanity.
God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what
you
are able, but with the temptation He will also provide a way of
escape so
that you are able to bear it."
1 Corinthians 10:13
This world is full of temptation. Everywhere we look there is something to draw our attention away from where it should be. Scantily clad men and women are splattered all over our tv sets. Nearly every show on tv includes some sort of infidelity. There is always someone somewhere that will try to take our attention. So how do we fight temptation? WE don't! We stay close to God and remove ourselves from the temptations. Remove myself? Yes. I don't need to see a man frolicking on tv in his underwear. So...flip the channel! An ad for sexy lingerie comes on...flip the channel! Watching that skinny model in her underwear does nothing for my self esteem anyway! The Word of God tells us that we don't have to succumb to temptations! If Jesus was tempted (and He certainly was) and never strayed...then we can be tempted and not fall to the temptation! God is with us...24/7/365. He never leaves us. So when those temptations come...in life or on tv or the radio...God is there. He will provide a way away from the temptation. If it's tv...turn it off or flip the channel. If it's a half dressed woman walking down the street in front of you...go a different way. We don't have to fight the temptation to stay pure. Use the door that God provides to escape. He is our help in times of trouble. Don't fight on your own.
Have a blessed and strong day!
Amen. We can't fight temptation but we can stay close to God and let Him fight for us.
