My husband grew up loving baseball. He regularly tells our kids that when he was their age he cared more about playing baseball, watching baseball and collecting baseball cards than he did about tv, girls or technology (not that we had the option of texting, Facetiming or social media then). When our son was born we couldn't wait to become a baseball family. The very second he was old enough to play, we put him on a team. A few years ago we also became a volleyball and basketball family. But baseball season is one of our faves.
Today I want to share not a recipe, but a craft. I saw these super cute baseball flip flops on Facebook several months ago. Sunday night my husband and I sat down to give it a try.
Now, I will admit that I am not the most crafty person, though it pains me to admit that, and they didn't turn out perfect, but I absolutely love them and cannot wait to wear them to the next game. I think next year we will give it another try and see if we can get them even better.
We made two pair, one for me and one for my sister, Melissa, in my nephew's team color, which is also her favorite color. It was going to be a surprise but I think I just let the cat out of the bag, so to speak.
This video tutorial comes from the Kid Pep blog.

While mine did not turn out perfect, it really was super easy. and my kids got a kick out of seeing what's inside a baseball. If you are a baseball mom, give it a try!
Cute flip flops! You really did a good job!
