"46 …Yes, it was written long ago that the Messiah would suffer and die and
rise from the dead on the third day. 47 It was also written that this message
would be proclaimed in the authority of his name to all the nations,
beginning in Jerusalem: 'There is forgiveness of sins for all who repent.'"
Luke 24:46-47 NLT

If we 'knew' the manner in which we would die, would it change our course of action for our life? If you knew you were ultimately going to die in a skiing accident, would you steer clear of boating? If you knew you would die from eating bad beef, would you ever eat a hamburger? I bet the answer to those questions would be a huge 'NO!' Jesus knew that He would be betrayed by one of His closest friends. He knew that He would be arrested, tried in a mock trial, be beaten beyond recognition and forced to carry His own cross. He knew that He would be nailed to that cross and hung between 2 thieves.
Though He knew all of this, He continued to spread the Good News of His Father to everyone. He had one mission on this earth and that was to be the Final Sacrifice for all mankind. My heart is overflowing with love and amazement at the love of our Father for us. I am amazed and thankful that Jesus, knowing how horrible it would be, willingly accepted His fate for no reason other than His love for us!
Take some time this Easter season and look at some of the events of Jesus' last week on this earth. Look beyond the typical and see more of His love.
Have a blessed day!
It's amazing that Jesus KNEW but did it anyway just for US.
