Embrace Your Season

I've been thinking about the changing seasons quite a bit lately. After all, I pretty much dislike winter and I am over the top ready for spring. Budding trees, birds singing, grass turning green, butterflies, I love everything about spring.

There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the Heavens.
Ecclesiastes 3:1

Our lives have seasons too. Childhood, adolescence, singleness, marriage, parenthood, raising teenagers, empty nest, grandparent, to name a few.

Each season has its difficulties and its blessings.

Whatever season you are in, know that the difficulties will pass. It is just a season. One day it will be over. But also know that the blessings that come with that season will be but a memory. Embrace it. If you are in a season of raising young children and you are exhausted from the sleepless nights and cries of little ones, know that they will grow and one day you will miss their cries and you will miss comforting them in the night. If you are in a season of grandchildren wanting your every attention, embrace it. One day those grandchildren will be at an age where they don't vie for your attention and you will miss it. Whatever season you are in, embrace every moment. For this too shall pass....

What season are you in right now? Do you find it easy or difficult to embrace this season of life?

  2. I am learning that it isn't overcoming the challenge of a season that is the most important - it is the journey in the season - learning to live faith in the daily:) - BTW - I love winter (autumn is my favorite) but the snow keeps going above or below us - and that frustrates me. However, I am starting to want a grilled hamburger on a warm sunny night! Thank you for so delightfully hosting!

  3. What a splendid word - SEASONS! Such hope in the concept that our present circumstances are not lasting, but fractions of growth in its due time for greater purposes moment by moment. Yes - I'm in a season - and decidedly over winter. Bring on the Spring!
    Joy!

  4. Oh, yes ... life is made up of seasons. Some are bitter, some are lean, some are bountiful, some are sweet, but they all serve a purpose, and none lasts forever. The good news is God is unchanging, no matter the seasons.

Thanks for hosting this great community.

  5. I cried last night as I heard our son walking in the night. It doesn't seem so long ago, that when he needed to get up at night, he would come to me and say, "Mama, will you go with me? I'm scared." After struggling with infertility issues for 12.5 years, then God miraculously opening my womb and sending us this precious boy, it seems that the season of his childhood is going by way too fast! I am cherishing every second, but as I cherish, I have no power to make it slow down. You are so right in all you said. We need to just treasure the moments of today and be content in our current season. For too quickly, it will pass, then we will long for it. I love being a Mama and praise God every day for this incredible gift! Thanks for hosting the link-up!

  6. Hi Jenifer; found your link up on Joan's blog, and glad I stopped by and joined!
Every season (especially spring) reminds me that as the seasons turn, there is no way for us to get around change either; life itself is a process of change and growth. It creates in me a genuine yearning to grow more, and motivates me to set forth plans to change and make new resolutions for the days to come! ♥
Thank you for this beautiful post and your link up party! ♥ Denise http://refinemelord.com/
