Thankful for God's Protection & Mercy!

Today my heart is ever so thankful...thankful to God for His protection and His mercy.  I have a 3 y/o great niece.  This little angel was born at 14 ounces!  She has survived that complicated birth with no lasting side effects much to the glory of God!  This past Sunday night, while at a birthday party, she was chasing a balloon and inadvertently ran into the street.  Yes...she was hit by a car!  This precious little child was doing what children do...playing...and in the course of that play she was injured.  It was purely an accident.  No one was at fault. 

It was through the protection of her Creator and His mercy that she was not killed!  In fact, she has very minor injuries considering the magnitude of the accident.  She has a fracture on both sides of her jaw and multiple abrasions.  There was NO internal bleeding.  There was NO broken bones other than the jaw bones.  God is so GOOD and He is faithful!!!

The doctors contemplated wiring her jaws but decided against it.  Yes, the next month will be difficult.  She has to eat only baby food or pureed food.  It will likely be a struggle getting her to eat that way.  But she is here.  Her parents could have been planning a funeral...but she is here!!!  The struggle is worth it.  Because she is here!!!

I truly believe that God has something great for this little one.  Being born at 14 ounces, no one expected her to survive.  She did!  Being hit by a car...no one would expect a small child to survive.  She did!  For God to have brought her through these things, He must have something special for her!  I cannot wait to see what He will do in her life!

Yes, today I am thankful for the protection and mercy of my God!!!
