Prayer Changes Lives

"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:6-7

This past week I have re-learned an important lesson.

Prayer changes lives.

This past week was very difficult for my family. Both my daughter and I had some serious medical tests done, which could of had drastic life changing outcomes.

I have a past history of getting anxious very easily. However, this past week was different. Do you know what the difference was?

I finally gave it over to God.

I raised my hands in the air and I lifted them up to God and I said, "God, I can't do this anymore, it's yours. No matter what the outcome, no matter what the cost, it's your will and not mine."

Sure, satan tried to whisper in my ear and fill my heart with fear, but when I felt him drawing closer, I rebuked Him in the name of Jesus, and I told him, "No, not this time!" and then I prayed.

I prayed without ceasing, no matter the hour. I prayed when the slightest bit of doubt crossed my mind. Then, in order to take my mind off my situation I took stock of all I had to be thankful for and I praised God instead.

Earlier last week, we received good news about my daughter's test results. We were so thankful that the Lord heard our cries!

Next, it was my turn.

Yesterday, as I sat in the doctor's chair waiting for my test results, I silently cried to the Lord for help. I looked up, and it was as if I could see Him standing next to me. He placed His hand on my shoulder and we waited for the doctor to come in. The results were better than expected, and the One who deserves all the credit is the Lord! Praise His name!

God's power is released when we pray! Whatever you're going through sisters, give it over to God and leave it there. Cry out to God, He hears your when you pray!

"Rejoice always; pray without ceasing. in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus." 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
