“Back
to school, back to school!” is what we’ve heard so much these past couple of
weeks!! Everyone is getting ready with new clothes, supplies and haircuts. We might even be making resolutions to stay
on top of it all, make healthy lunches and turn off the electronics. We’re trying to set priorities and make the
best choices for our families.
Well,
mamas, are we also making plans to be in God’s Word with our children? We need to remember to nourish our own faith
and most especially our children’s faith!
Do you have a plan in place to make God your family’s number one
priority? You can start right now with a
prayer, “Father God, guide me in your ways. Lead me in teaching my family of
your everlasting love for us all.
Prepare my heart to share the message of salvation with each of my loved
ones.”
Do
you have a routine with your children at home for homework, chores, sports
practices, etc.? Make a routine of
studying the Bible and praying together.
You can find great resources online for small devotionals that you can
have with you, even in the car! Ask one
of the older children to read to the others.
Then you can talk about it together and pray before everyone leaves for
the day.
Some
encouragement from God’s Word for the school year, mamas: “But
he said to me, ‘My
grace is
sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore I will boast all the
more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.” ~2
Corinthians 12:9 (NIV 2011)

ReplyDeleteYes, thank you for guest posting today, Lisa! These are wonderful ideas and great encouragement! And it's good advice for those of us without kids at home any more...for our own sanity...prayer before leaving for our day is vital! Have a blessed day!
