Love never fails
1 Corinthians 13:8

Many times I see and hear of couples where one spouse is committed to the marriage and is determined to make it work.  While the other spouse is tired of trying and just ready to be done with it all.  After fighting and trying, the first spouse, the committed one, decides they can't keep at it and they give up too.  Their love just stops.  But if love is real, from the love of Jesus, it doesn't waiver or give up when it is not received the way you want.

Love never fails.

Ever.

If you have done everything in your power to obey God, follow God and love your spouse yet your spouse still walks away from you, let it not be because you gave up, stopped loving them or failed.  Stay strong in the Word of God, stay rooted in Him.  Continue to love purely.

Of the nine "fruits of the Spirit" listed in Galations 5, the first of all is love.  And because the unchanging Holy Spirit is its source - the same Holy Spirit who dwells in the hearts of all believers - then the love He creates in you is unchanging as well.  It is based on the will of God, the calling of God, and the Word of God - all unchanging things.

A few weeks ago, you were Love Dared to build your marriage on the Word of God.  That is because when all else fails, the truth of God will still stand.  The true love of God will never fail.

Say to your spouse, "Even if you don't like what you're reading - even if you don't like me - I choose to love you anyway.  Forever." Because love never fails.

Today's Dare:
Spend time in personal prayer, then write a letter of commitment and resolve to your spouse.  Include why you are committing to this marriage until death, and that you have purposed to love him no matter what.  Leave it in a place that your mate will find it.

Sweet Blessings~
