This week for Worship Wednesday we will be covering week three in our study of "The Air I Breath, Worship As A Way of Life", by Louie Giglio.
~ Why Worship Matters ~
With the coming of each Autumn and the changing of the leaves to lemon yellow, and watermelon red, I become very nostalgic. I tell myself to capture in my mind a picture of the way everything looks, not wanting to leave out a single detail. In reality we only get so many Autumn seasons to enjoy and I don't want to miss out on any of them.
The same is true with our everyday lives. We only get one life to live.....one chance at this gift we have been given, it's up to us to choose how we will live it.
In "The Air I Breath," Giglio states, "You only have one life. And you only have one life of worship. You have one brief opportunity in time to declare your allegiance, to unleash your affection, to exalt something or someone above all else." With the one life you have, what will you choose to worship?
God created us for the ultimate purpose of worshiping Him. God wants our worship because He deserves it, plain and simple.
"So in calling us to prize Him above all else, God is both gaining the praise that is rightfully His alone and causing us to gain the greatest treasure we will ever know. God is not an egotist seeking more than He deserves from us. Rather, He is God, choosing, in worship, to reward us with Himself." ~Giglio
Friends, Satan will try every trick in the book to deceive us and try to turn our worship away from God. He even tried to do this with Jesus, but instead of giving into his statements, Jesus said to him,
"Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord
your God, and serve him only.'" ~ Matthew 4:10
Don't let Satan steal your heart. Don't waste your time worshiping things created by man. When we do this we are left feeling empty and hollow. We are also dishonoring God when we do this.
We need to take inventory of our lives, and make sure what we're doing has eternal significance. We need to worship God alone and not worldly distractions.
Don't waste another moment of your life on things that have know value. Praise His holy name, worship Him alone and receive the greatest treasure of all.
“Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come.” – Revelation 4:8
Many Blessings~

Away from me satan! Amen! He tries so hard to tempt us and steal our true joy. But I will follow the example of Christ and say away from me! I want to worship God and focus on eternal things, not temporary things.
