I'm excited to announce for the next ten weeks on Worship Wednesday we will be going through a book called "The Air I Breathe, Worship As A Way Of Life", by Louise Giglio. In Beth Moore's review she stated that, "It's about time we had a book from Louie Giglio! Read it, and find out why."
This is an amazing book that has made worship come to life for me. As we delve deep into it's pages, I will also be sharing what God has laid upon my heart as well. I hope you enjoy this study as much as I have.
God created us to worship. His intent was for us to worship Him alone, but along the way as human nature and sin came into the picture this idea of worship shifted. We can now see man worshiping a variety of things, from money to sports, to the music band that is performing in the local arena.
Worship happens naturally for us because that's how God wired us. The problem arises when we loose focus and worship the wrong thing. Giglio states that, "If only everyone could know we've been created by and for God! If only we could comprehend that we're precious to Him, housing mirrored souls designed to reflect His glory."
"For by him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by him and for him. "Colossians 1:6
When we loose sight of this fact, the how and who we are supposed to worship becomes fuzzy on our television screens. I think it's time to throw out the old televisions and see the true picture of what worship really means by digging deep into the word of the Lord. What do you think?
I know that I want to be a mirror that reflects our Savior in all that I say and do. What about you sisters? Take a moment to ask yourself where your heart has been. Is it focused on things of the world, or on the Lord? I'm not saying that it's wrong to enjoy certain things or have passions in our life. The problem comes when those passions overtake our life.
Won't you join me on this journey of learning what worship really means? Let's have our hearts so focused on worshiping Him, that nothing but the glory of God shines through in our lives!
"Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before
the LORD, our Maker!" ~Psalms 95:6
