Days like these are when Satan tries to be sneaky. He tries to get inside our head and say, "Yep, here we go again, you better get up and get moving. You don't need to read your Bible today, just skip it. It really doesn't matter anyway." When we hear this voice we need to be mindful to put on the full armor of God so we can be ready for His attacks. We need to be able to stand strong in the Lord.
The truth is......reading the Bible does matter. Skipping one day of reading and praying can easily turn into two or three and it can snow ball from there. When life seems to get turned upside down and your schedule doesn't go as planned, you need to remember to improvise.

When your children see you do this, you will be setting and example for them. You will be teaching them how to follow Jesus from little on, so it becomes second nature when they are older. So, the answer to the question, "What do Laundry and Worship Have in Common? The answer is both can be done at the same time so that the Lord might be glorified.
Can you think of other times that you can worship the Lord, other than during a normal devotion time? If so, please share your ideas in the comment section so that we can all be encourage.

Love this, Shari. I had never thought of 'laundry' as an opportunity to spend time with God.
ReplyDeleteThank you for this great post!
Love this encouragement, Shari!
ReplyDeleteI like to worship the Lord when I am driving in my car alone. I look at the sky, and the trees, and the grass, and the flowers, and thank Him for all of the beauty He created.
ReplyDeleteI turn on the radio and listen to Christian music and sing along, and praise Him as I drive.
And...I pray out-loud to the Lord...talking to Him as I would a passenger in the next seat!
I sometimes drive to the park and sit in my car and watch the ducks on the pond, and reflect on all of God's goodness to me. I keep a small Bible in the car so that I can read passages while I am parked and have some time to meditate on them as I gaze at the clouds that are floating by.
This is just one of my favorite ways to commune with the Lord. I also love singing in the shower to Him... and also praying as I wash my troubles down the drain! You should try it! It feels so refreshing...and it is such a private time, where nobody bothers you or distracts you.
Love, Linda
Oh...and I forgot to say that this was a wonderful idea to "turn laundry time into a prayers session"...and to pray for each person as you fold their clothes and while you put them away. Praying blessings upon the family that you love. Great post!
