In fall, I love for my house to smell very well, fall. The smells that make me think fall are, of course, pumpkin, cinnamon and apple.
I love to use my crockpot. I can prepare something in the morning while my husband is at work and the kids are getting ready for the day. Then in the evening I am free to be with the family instead of working in the kitchen.
So today I am putting these two things together for applesauce in the crockpot! Oh my friends, your house will smell deliciously like fall all day long only to end with a yummy treat!
6 apples cored and peeled
3/4 c. water
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon and/or a couple small cinnamon sticks
handful of redhots candy (optional - my grandma does this)
Set crockpot on low and cook for 6 hours stirring occasionally.
You can also put into mason jars with a cute fall ribbon for a gift for the neighbor!
What other desserts have you tried in the crockpot?
Sweet Blessings~
Oh yum! I've always wanted to make applesauce in the crockpot! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI've not tried a dessert in the crockpot. I've made Apple Butter in it though. Pinterest has had some really great looking crockpot desserts recently too...thinking of giving one a whirl!
