Have you ever had one of those days where you would just like to put up the closed sign and say your done for the day? You've had enough? You can't take it anymore? Well for the past few weeks this has been me.
As some of you know I am a stage IV cancer survivor, and new things have developed with my health these past few weeks that have caused me to want to withdraw. It's one of those times where the air gets sucked out of your chest and you find it a struggle to breath as you wonder about up and coming test results and what the future holds.
During these times I have two choices. I can sit and worry and wonder, having my anxiety run wild. Or I can get on my hands and knees bringing my requests to the Father while worshiping His name. God demands our worship. He wants it not because of what He's done for us, or for the things that He could do. He simply wants us to worship Him because He alone is God. Even when the storms seem overwhelming, and our future looks dark, He wants our honor and respect by worshiping Him and giving Him the glory He deserves.
Of all the individuals who suffered more than anyone in the Bible we can turn to Job. He had everything taken away from him and yet he still found reasons to worship God listed in the following verses:
• He is good and loving (Job 10:12).
• He is all-powerful (Job 42:2; 37:5, 23).
• He notices every detail of my life (Job 23:10; 31:4).
• He is in control (Job 34:13).
• He has a plan for my life (Job 23:14).
• He will save me (Job 19:25).
(Verses from Job used from a sermon by Pastor Rick Warren)
Worshiping the Father takes our eyes onto the only thing that matters God! Give it all over to Him. When the storms rage, give Him your praises and worries alike and you'll find a comforting peace like no other. Please take a moment to listen to the song below. It describes perfectly how to worship the Father for who He is, no matter where we stand in life.
Sisters, what struggles are you facing in life today? Take it to the foot of the cross and lay it at His feet. Worship Him through both the trials and triumphs. How can we pray for you sisters? Please know that we're always here for you. You can leave your prayer requests in the comment section below or message us. It would be an honor to go to the throne of God with you.
Many Blessings~
Shari, it is amazing that you are facing the struggles of your own and yet you are reaching out to others that are struggling! That's what it's all about. We need to take our eyes off of ourself and put them on to our heavenly Father. When we do that, it's easy to see that we are not the only one in pain.
ReplyDeleteI am praying for you...for peace in this storm and for strength to endure whatever comes your way! I am praying for the healing hand of our God to take control of your body and make it WHOLE!
Blessings to you, my friend!

ReplyDeleteSister, I'm not asking for prayers for myself, no. For today I am praying only for others and for you, Shari. God knows what I need before I even ask it so I am good. Thank you for being a beacon of light for us all. You are a true blessing.
ReplyDeleteLove and Blessings,
~Shannon~
