Marriage Monday - Love Dare 21

The Lord will continually guide you, and satisfy your desire.  Isaiah 58:11

Last week we talked about taking God at His word and trusting Him for salvation and grace.  What an important thing we need to do!  How does that pertain to marriage?  When our relationship with God is on the right track, when we fully surrender to Him, all else falls into place in His timing.

It is so easy to place our happiness and contentment in the hands of others.  When our husband is in a good mood, we are too.  If he gets cranky, we feel like our world is falling a part.

Oh sisters, I can be so guilty of this.  If my husband is happy, then I feel like all is well in my world.  But when he gets upset, I feel as though my world is falling to pieces.  Even if it is minor and I know he will be okay soon, I still feel like everything is falling apart.  That means I am putting my everything in my husband.

There is only One Who can fully satisfy us, fully bring us happiness and fully give us contentment.  God.  No one else can do this for us.  If we are depending on our husband for this contentment, we will be let down over and over and over again.  Sweet sister, I mean it.  You will be let down.

But God, there are those two words I love so much, but God will never let you down.  Period.

Today's Dare:
Be intentional today about making time to pray and read your Bible.  Try reading a chapter out of Proverbs each day (there are thirty one - a full month's supply), or reading a chapter in the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke or John).  As you do, immerse yourself in the love and promises God has for you.  This will add to your growth as you walk with Him.

Sweet Blessings~

  1. Thank you for this. We must always remember to put our hope and trust in the Lord. He is predictable: He always comes through, He is always available to listen, He will guide you, He will shelter you, He will uplift you--ALWAYS!
