Marriage Monday - Love Dare 19

Let us love one another, for love is from God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  1 john 4:7

We are almost halfway through the Love Dare.  I have truly been enjoying this journey.  What a blessing it is to see my husband and marriage in a fresh way!  And to do it with you sweet ladies is a double bonus.  {smiles}  Through the first half we have demonstrated love, forgiveness and servant hood in different ways.  But sincerely loving someone unselfishly and unconditionally is another matter altogether.  

So how can you do it?  Like it or not, agape love isn't something you can do.  It's something only God can do.  The only way we can really, truly love our husband is through the love Christ has given to us.

This kind of love is selfless, unconditional, sacrificial and may take hard work but is a powerful love.  We can't give this love to our husband until God gives it to us.  We need to fully surrender our self to Christ and let His power work in us.

The truth is, you can't live without Him and you can't love without Him.  But there is no telling what He could do in your marriage if you put your trust in Him.

Look back over dares from previous days (click HERE).  Were there some that seemed impossible to you?  Have you realized your need for God to change your heart and give you the ability to love?  Ask Him to show you where you stand with Him and ask for the strength and grace to settle your eternal destination.
