Marriage Monday - Love Dare 9

Have you missed any of the Love Dares?  Click here to catch up!

Greet one another with a kiss of love.  1 Peter 5:14

I have shared this story before {actually it was our launch article!}, but it fits today's Love Dare perfectly so I am sharing it with you again.  One day my husband came home from work early and the kids and I were out running errands.  When I pulled in the driveway and saw his truck, I had visions of walking in the door and Jeremy greeting my at the door with a passionate kiss and telling me how much he missed me and loved me.  But when I walked in the door, from his chair with eyes glued to the television, he said, "Hey."  Um, what!?  Talk about dashing a girls dreams!

But God gently spoke to me and told me that I often times do the same thing.  When we first married I would meet my husband at the door with an afternoon snack and sweet kiss.  I showed him that I loved him and was glad he was home.  But after many years of marriage, I had become lazy in this area.  It became more of a "hey" yelled from the kitchen as I cook dinner or the computer as I play...a-hem, work.  I wouldn't make eye contact let alone go to the door or hug him.

I understand we are busy, whether we work outside the home or not, with helping the kids with homework, preparing dinner, laundry and so much more.  I know our days can be stressful and we get tired.  I get it.  Really, I do.  But our husband deserves more than that.  He deserves to know that we love him, miss him and are glad his is home.  He deserves to come home to a wife who is happy he is there.

Today's Dare:
Think of a specific way you'd like to greet your husband today.  Do it with a smile and with enthusiasm.  Then determine to change your greeting to reflect your love for him.

Comment below or on our Facebook page with how you greeted your guy today.

Sweet Blessings~
