Well, last night while I was getting ready for bed, I began to pray and ask God to please let Rocky sleep until at least 5 a.m. We are normally up somewhere between 2:30 and 4 a.m. and then again between 5 and 6 a.m. Then when 'Daddy's' alarm goes off at 6, heaven knows, we can't stay in bed. So, this mommy is quite tired and worn out! Anyway, I asked God to let Rocky sleep until at least 5 before he had to go out. Well, isn't it just like God to give us what we ask for and then some! Rocky went to sleep and didn't stir until 5:30 a.m.! And then, after we went outside, we came back in and went back to bed...until 6:15...another 45 minutes! YES! I woke up this morning feeling like I had actually gotten some rest and not just taken a 'cat nap.'
On another note, getting Rocky has been a good thing for my little old lady, Princess. Princess, while she is only 7 years old...quite young for a Maltese...she lives with Mommy and Daddy who aren't home all day long. She acts much older than she is because she has no one to keep her company or play with her. She is very grouchy...just ask my grandkids! I swear she needs some kind of pill to help her 'chill out.' She likes things done the same way all the time. She doesn't handle deviation from the normal very well at all! I knew that she needed a playmate but was afraid that she wouldn't handle it very well. And...it has been an adjustment for her. However, I have caught her playing with toys...the same toys that she has had for years. I have watched her play with Rocky...they chase each other around the coffee table and around the bed. It's so funny. Her groomer even said that she has lost some weight. And it's all thanks to her 'brother!' Now, she is still very grouchy and she likes things on her terms, but I think that will change over time.
I was just amazed, as I always am, that God heard my prayer...which He always does...and that he answered...not just with what I asked for, but with a bonus!
"Confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and produces wonderful results."
James 5:16 (NLT)
God is just so stinkin' good...all the time! Thank you, Lord, for the wonderful night of rest AND for those extra 30 minutes!
Have a great day!
He always knows exactly what we need! Great post!
ReplyDeleteThis is confirmation that God hears our prayers and cares about everything. I love how He goes above and beyond what we ask.
