The Right Report
The LORD said to Moses, "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites." Exodus 13:1-2
The people gave Moses this account: "We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large... We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are." Exodus 13:27, 31
The land of Canaan had been promised to the Israelites since God told Abraham to leave his country and settle there. (Genesis 12:1-5) When God sent Moses back to Egypt, He instructed Moses to say to the Israelites, "I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites ... a land flowing with milk and honey." (Exodus 3:15-17) Now the Israelites finally reach the land promised to them over and over again. The Lord is saying the land is yours and the 10 spies are saying we can't live there. Which report is right?
God has said that He will heal you. Not only does His Word say so (Isaiah 53:4), but God also spoke to your heart and said you will be healed. You go to the doctor and the x-rays and lab work say otherwise. Which report is right?
The Bible says that God will supply all our needs (Phil. 4:19), but you just lost your source of income. Which report is right?
God promises to bless us when we tithe. (Malachi 3:10) You trusted Him and gave your money, but now your bank balance shows not enough money to pay the bills. Which report is right?
The Word says that we can do everything through Him who gives us strength (Philippians 4:13), but your family says you can't accomplish anything. Which report is right?
We have an enemy who wants to see us fall. He likes to whisper those message of defeat and failure. But God has said that we are overcomers (1 John 5:4) and that He has a plan to prosper us (Jeremiah 29:11). When we feel weak, He will renew our strength (Isaiah 40:29), and He will never forsake us (Psalm 27:25).
So which report will you believe? I will believe the report of the LORD!!!

ReplyDeleteLove this Lisa! Is't so easy to believe the wrong report... we have to trust the report of the Lord! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteHi Lisa - great post. I will believe the report of the Lord. We should measure what we hear against what God's word says, and then choose what He says. That's what we should do! But like you say, we have an enemy - We need to remind our enemy of his report found in scripture!
ReplyDeleteGod bless
Tracy
These words have been music to my ears this morning. Whenever we step out in faith, and trusting the Lord the enemy will always try to convince us the Lord will not keep His promises especially when our world falls apart.
ReplyDeleteBlessings.
I will believe the report of the Lord!!!!
ReplyDeleteGod has proven His faithfulness to us. We definitely need to be listening to His voice and not the enemy's voice!
ReplyDeleteI will have to try your bobbypin trick. I've worn it when my hair is dry but never tried it when it's wet. Thankx!
