How balanced would you say your life is right now? Do you feel like you're about to burn out or rust out? We feel burned out when we are doing too much, burning the candle at both ends. Everything we are doing may be good, but we are just doing too much. We rust out when we have the opposite problem - not doing anything. Like an old car at a junk yard, we begin to rust out from sitting too long.
We worship our work,
work at our play,
and play at our worship.
This should not be.
We were made to worship God. Our purpose is to know God and see Him glorified in our lives. Too often we have this backwards in our lives; God becomes last on our list of things to do. We save our worship for Sundays and spend the rest of the week focusing on work and play. But God should be the center of all we do. We worship Him by surrendering our will to His.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men. Colossians 3:23
Worship is our prime objective and we bring balance to our lives when we center everything around God. Worship the Lord today by doing everything for His glory.
This post is based on the message my pastor shared on Sunday.
God should be our number One in whatever we do. Life is so much better when we do this. Thanks for the great reminder.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Pastor's sermon on Sunday! God should be the center of all, including work and play. I want to worship God by doing everything for His glory! Great post.
ReplyDeleteI love that phrase we were made to worhsip God. My daughter was walking around the house this weekend asking "why did God make you?" She said to glorify himself! Yes...and what better way than to worship Him? I agree about saying "no" to things. I am trying to be more protective of my time because nothing is more important than my relationship with Jesus.
ReplyDeleteI loved Pastors sermon Sunday, God should be at the center of everything we do.
ReplyDeleteWe just finished a series at church reminding us of this too. We often get our priorities backwards. But my day goes so much more smoothly when I remember that He needs to be at the center of it all.
ReplyDeleteLove the diagram - makes perfect sense. I think I'm finally just getting the whole "balance" thing down. Feels so good to have direction, goals and comfort in the Lord.
ReplyDeleteGreat post!
Yes! All for the glory of God!
